Become a Wedding Planner

The Wedding Planning Association of Australia (WPAA) was founded in 2004 by experienced wedding planner Paula Barham, who recognised a gap in the industry—there were no structured courses available to train aspiring wedding planners, nor was there an accreditation body to support and unify professionals in the field.

 

Paula established the WPAA to provide high-quality training, industry accreditation, and a professional network for wedding planners across Australia. Her vision was to create an organisation that not only educated and empowered planners but also provided ongoing support and credibility to those in the industry.

 

Today, the WPAA is led by her daughter, Hannah Medellin, who continues to uphold its commitment to excellence. Under her leadership, the association has grown into Australia’s leading accreditation body for wedding and event planners, offering recognised certifications, business support, and an industry directory to help professionals succeed.

 

With a strong community of accredited planners, the WPAA remains dedicated to setting industry standards, supporting its members, and helping wedding and event professionals build successful careers.
